The short version: your files never leave your device. Every ClassPDF tool runs entirely in your web browser. When you open a PDF here, it is processed on your own computer - it is never uploaded to a server, and we never see it.
Nothing you open, edit, merge or convert is stored or transmitted. It lives only in your browser's memory while the page is open and is gone the moment you close the tab. That means a teacher's documents - and any student work in them - stay on the teacher's device.
ClassPDF has no sign-up and no accounts. We don't ask for your name, email, or school details, and we don't have a login to store them in.
We may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to count anonymous page views so we know which tools are useful. It never receives your files and never identifies you personally.
To catch and fix bugs, we use self-hosted error monitoring (Sentry, running on our own servers, not a third party). If something goes wrong, technical diagnostic data such as the error message, your browser type, and the page you were on is sent to our own servers. Your PDF files are never included, and we do not attach personal identifying information.
